What is the antibiotic used for parakeet ear infection? And how can I get it?


Brankica: Maria, I never treated my pets on my own, especially parakeet, since they are so sensitive.

The only thing I might give to my parakeet is something for the cold but that would not help if he needs antibiotics.

Ear problems in birds are rare. When there is a problem it is usually caused by a granuloma (a mass of inflamed tissue) or a neoplasm which is a fast growing growth. The key to treatment is early detection and surgery if needed.

I am not sure if you should treat him on your own but to make sure you at least get the best answer you can ask a vet online.

Your parakeet was already sick and you treated him?

Have you used the antibiotics then? Just use the same ones, I guess.

I really don't know where you can buy them, I live in Europe and we can't get medicine for pets in a shop.
