Reader Question: What Is The Best Hamster Bedding?

What bedding would you recommend for a Campbell dwarf hamster? I live in a small town. No fancy pet stores and I hear the Carefresh is the best. Any alternatives.

Hello,

Carefresh and similar products made from paper fiber are an excellent choice for hamster bedding.

You should be able to place an order online if it is not available locally. Other options include wood shavings (no cedar as its fragrant oils can be very irritating) and shredded paper (paper towels work well in a pinch).
